No joint celebration.
No last few days of excitement.
No final gorge.
We will miss her presence at the cake and beer party I'm planning...
While she was fancying herself in the capital of love, Steve here was being selfless.
Right now, steaming away in the oven, is a delicious lemon drizzle cake.
I made it.
It's not for me, but a thankyou to the kind souls who've put up with me living with them for the past month.
I must admit, I licked the spoon of the creamy lemony raw eggy sugary mixture. Twice. It was darn good.
That reminded me of what I was missing. But for even more of a reminder, at the traffic lights today I caught sight of a woman, glancing ever so briefly at her boyfriend, while tucking into some sort of sweet pastry delight. She looked at him and made that eye-rolling, oh-my-god-this-is -delicious-I-might-actually-orgasm kind of face. The kind of face that can only come from eating such a sweet delight.
It made me realise how long its been since I made such a face.
Roll on 24th April.
Steve's Sunday eats...
This doesn't appear like much for a Steven appetite. But I got out of bed at 1pm. So really it's just half a days eating... Dylan and I went for a nice cycle down the Rhine. Only it rained all the way, and I don't have mudguards. My stuff is covered in mud.
Porridge w/ apple, banana, raisin, yoghurt, honey
Lots of raisins
3 slices of bread & tahini, 2 crackers
Pasta w/tomato & feta & spinach & onion & courgette & raisins & sunflower seeds & lettuce
Yoghurt and raisins and honey. Of course.
On reflection, today was a raisin day.

I wish you spelled my name right..
ReplyDeleteYOU are a raisin.
